Brief

“Built in Home Entertainment system across one wall with practical storage space and the ability to cover the TV, with a completely matt black finish.”

Until the site visit this looked like a straightforward commission. However, the location was an apartment up four floors of tight, narrow stairs and the unit was to be 4 metres wide.

The local designer had looked for months for a company who could make a 4 metre wide fitted unit, with the finish they wanted, and the technical experience to build the piece in sections which result in seamless joins once constructed.

We produced a number of CAD drawings for the client. The final design met all the requirements of the brief; the depth of the unit meant pocket bi-fold doors were used to cover the TV and mirrors added to the columns to give the impression of greater depth. A variety of storage spaces, both open and closed, were constructed, each a specific size for its desired use.

On approval of the drawings and quotation, the piece was constructed and finished in our workshops over a period of 8 weeks.

The piece was delivered to the apartment as six separate units and installed in situ within a day. The designer was delighted with the finished piece.
