Case Study 4 - Floating Kitchen...

Brief

Finishes can be a critical factor in the success of a kitchen installation. We were approached by a local customer with very specific requirements for their kitchen. Happily, we were able to meet all of them.

To guarantee the right finish was chosen we provided a number of samples, different in both sheen level, and colour. This attention to detail meant that the finish worked perfectly with the other surfaces in the room.

The kitchen units were to ‘float’ above the floor; this had the benefit of cleaner lines whilst giving the wall of the kitchen shape. The units were mounted to the wall to achieve this effect. This meant careful consideration was given to the materials used in the kitchen’s manufacture.

To complement the clean lines of the kitchen, there were no handles. We suggested a touch latch system we had used on previous commissions; this enables the doors to be opened by gently touching the fronts.

The finished kitchen integrated into the open plan living space seamlessly.
