KITCHEN

THE OLD FARMHOUSE KITCHEN

This old farmhouse was in the process of having a large extension to the rear of the property and the new kitchen needed careful planning in order to fit with our client’s brief.

The long island was designed slightly lower than the other cabinets to create a comfortable working height for cooking and baking. Our client wanted to have everything to hand so we used open cabinets to achieve this, with hand-made dog tooth shelving supports to give an additional appeal to the internals of the cabinets.

A mixture of quartz and solid oak work surfaces finished in natural oil which enhanced the warm feel of the room, whilst hand painting the cabinets in two contrasting colours complimented the free-standing feel of the kitchen.

The solid oak dining table top was handmade by us, using cast steel bases our customer had managed to source from a salvage yard, which worked really well in the room.
